A report from Florida shows a mother loading her vehicle for the first day of school when a local man ditched his bicycle, jumped into the driver seat, and took off.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., the Titusville mother called 911, and within minutes, officers identified the stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop; while the suspect did not comply, he fled off recklessly, according to the police report, and ultimately crashed the stolen vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Law enforcement followed the suspect to a wooded area, and at approximately 8:30 a.m. eastern, the presumed suspect was detained. The suspect, 43-year-old Santiago Junior Pena, was charged with multiple offenses, including grand theft, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, leaving the scene of a crash with damage, driving with a suspended license with knowledge, reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pena's bond has been set at $29,000 while awaiting trial at Brevard County jail.

Here's the initial camera footage of the suspect taking off with the mother's vehicle in her driveway.
