VANESSA MAE FRENCH

EVART — Vanessa Mae (McCoy) French, 94, of Evart and Brooksville, Fla., passed away on March 8, 2011, at her son’s home in Evart.

She was born Vanessa Mae Streeter on May 19, 1916, to Elmer and Mae (Brown) Streeter in Clayton, N.Y.

She attended North Central School for Practical Nursing in Ludington, graduating in 1956. She worked for Evart Products for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She also belonged to the Practical Nurses Association and Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She was preceded in death by husbands, William J. McCoy and Leslie French; son, Walter V. McCoy; brother, Chester Streeter; and sisters, Cora Doroha and Beatrice Collett.

She is survived by children, Lynden (Arlene) McCoy, Frederick (Judy) McCoy and Wesley (Pamela) McCoy; six grandchildren, Kimberly (William) Hodges, Shawne McCoy, Sarah (Terry) Bowman, Kyle McCoy, Mark (Jill) Bocock and Wendy (Lucas) Elliot; 12 great-grandchildren; nephew, Robert (Candance) Doroha; nieces, Patricia (James) Dennis and Mary (Frank) Brossard.

A memorial service is being scheduled for a later date, with Pastor Doug Bennett officiating.
