
A Wexford County man has been arrested for an unarmed robbery that occurred in July, Michigan State Police reported.

Christopher Carl Simmons of Harrietta, 37, was arraigned on Monday for one count of unarmed robbery, one count of larceny in a building and one count of larceny from a person, according to MSP in a press release issued on Wednesday.
Troopers for the MSP Cadillac Post arrested Simmons during a traffic stop for speeding on July 31 when they realized Simmons was wanted for a robbery that occurred earlier in July.
On July 6, troopers were called to a report of an assault at the Mesick Market Grocery Store. The victim claimed Simmons, who was his former friend, attacked him in the store and took his wallet, according to MSP in the release. Simmons reportedly took two debit cards and threw the wallet back at the victim.
Surveillance footage was reviewed and a report was submitted to the Wexford County Prosecutor's Office. A warrant was issued on July 28, according to MSP in the release.
Simmons bond is $2,500 or 10%. He is due back in court on Aug. 16.
