Experts answer Midlanders' questions on COVID-19 in virtual Town Hall

Regional experts had another opportunity to connect Midland-area residents with the most recent information about the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Midland Daily News held a virtual panel discussion Thursday with representatives of the Midland County Department of Public Health, MyMichigan Health and WCMU Public Radio. The event had upwards of 140 attendees who could submit questions during the livestream, and many individuals emailed in questions ahead of time.

According to MyMichigan's COVID-19 patient hospitalizations, 81 of the total 105 hospitalized individuals are unvaccinated as of Friday. Only 24 vaccinated individuals are hospitalized at MyMichigan Health. 

The Daily News shared similar data with event attendees on Thursday. 

According to the latest COVID-19 report, Midland County added 930 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths from Saturday, Jan. 15-19. The state's COVID numbers were not updated on Jan. 17 because it was a federal holiday.

In late 2020, the Daily News hosted two similar virtual Town Hall meetings about COVID-19 for the public.
