Thomas E. Donders

Thomas E. Donders, 66, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 24 at his home in Evart. He was born Dec. 23, 1945, in Hersey Township, Osceola County.

Mr. Donders was a lifelong Evart resident and attended Evart schools. He had worked at Evart products his entire working life. Tom was a U.S. Navy veteran who served on a ship blockading Cuba during the Cuban Missle Crisis in the early 1960s. He was a member of the American Legion and the Evart Moose Lodge. Tom enjoyed attending Evart High School sporting events and was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and bowler.

Mr. Donders is survived by five sisters, Noreen (Robert) Stevens, of Evart, Kayla (Lyman) Richter, of Sears, Shirley (Larry) Squires, of Colorado, Linda Griep, of Holland, and Leann (Tom) Kingsbury, of Colorado; and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret, and a sister, Sharon Schmidt.
