FAIRFAX, Va. – Susan E. Berg (Sauntman), 64, of Fairfax, Va. (formerly of Chase), passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012.

Susan was born in 1947 at Reed City Hospital to Wilbur and Phyllis (Lodholtz) Sauntman, both previously deceased. She was a graduate of Reed City High School in 1965 and moved away shortly thereafter to work for the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C.

Susan had many hobbies: raising koi in her ponds, gardening and taking care of her beloved animals. She was a licensed Master Gardener and belonged to a garden club in her area. She also was a volunteer member of Small Paws Rescue, Inc. of Virginia.

Susan is survived by her siblings, Brian (Marcia) Sauntman, of Chase, Stuart (Colleen) Sauntman, of Chase, Denise (David) Clasen, of Interlochen, and Randy Sauntman, of Los Angeles; nieces, Trisha Wangler, Keri Enyart, Heather Benton, Sondra Sauntman, Shari Sauntman, Devan Sauntman and Abbey Clasen; nephews, Kevin Sauntman, Wyatt Sauntman, Alex Sauntman and Hunter Clasen; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at the Church of Nazarene, located at 5300 220th Ave. in Reed City.
