Ronald S. Sobczak of Evart died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Spectrum Health-Reed City Campus. He was 78.

Mr. Sobczak was born September 4, 1934 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Joseph & Katherine (Skoda) Sobczak. He graduated from St. Florian’s High School in Hamtrack in 1952. Ronald married Arlene Pash on January 16, 1960 in Detroit. He worked for GM, retiring in 1982 after 30 years, and moved to Las Vegas. He and Arlene then moved to the Evart area in 1999. Ronald was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart, a member of the Evart Moose Lodge, and a member of Amvets. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing cards, and watching football and baseball.

His wife, Arlene Sobczak of Evart, daughter Lynnette(David) Dzingle of Evart, son Thomas Sobczak of Lakewood, California, brothers Raymond (Dolores) Sobczak of Sterling Heights, MI, and Leonard (Geraldine) Sobczak of Warren, MI survive him. His parents and a daughter, Katherine, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held 11:00am Friday, September 14th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart with Father Joe Fix officiating.
