Robert Glenn Vanderhoof
LAINGSBURG — Robert Glenn “R. G.” Vanderhoof, 83, of Laingsburg, and formerly of Hersey, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Owosso.
He was born on April 26, 1930, in Chase, to Ivan and Arvilla (Maxwell) Vanderhoof. He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was employed for 31 years with Cooper Industries before retiring in 1986. R.G. was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 2964 of Reed City and was a member of the Chase Library Historical Society.
He was married on Aug. 20, 1955, to Gloria Higley, who survives him. Also surviving are sons, Darrell (Paula), of Chase, and Darin (Ann), of Franklin, Tenn.; daughters, Deloris Vanderhoof, of Laingsburg; Darlene Snider, of Pleasanton, Calif., and Denise Vanderhoof, of Franklin, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and five
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City, with the Rev. Teresa Pedersen officiating. Burial will be at Chase Township Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013, at the funeral home. He was predeceased by four brothers and one sister.
