Robert Fay Curtis

LEROY — Robert Fay Curtis, 71, of Leroy, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on April 27, 1942, in Leroy to Fay Curtis and Neva Lathrop, was raised in Leroy and attended Leroy area schools. On Aug. 22, 1964, he was married in Reed City to Joyce Elaine Outman who survives.

He was employed as a machinist with Rancour Company in Reed City for 25 years and later with Northern Precision Company of Leroy for 18 years until his retirement in 2004. Robert was a past member of the Lou B. Winsor No. 363 lodge of F&AM and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a skilled craftsman who built cabinets and constructed a cabin on Hogback Lake in Osceola County, as well as in his family’s home in Leroy.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Curtis, of Leroy; sons, Dennis Curtis, of Leroy, Stacey Curtis, of Leroy, and Eric (Christina) Curtis, of Foster City; grandchildren, Derek Curtis, Tyler Curtis, Austin Curtis, and Emily Curtis; sister, Betty (Eugene) Roberts, of Reed City; mother-in-law, Eldora Outman, of Lake City; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Neva Curtis; and sister, Donna Lee Gregory.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City with the Rev. Keith Mannes officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at the funeral home.
