
The Michigan Department of Transportation announced a $1.3 million road construction project to the 14 Mile Road bridge over U.S. 131 near LeRoy.
Screenshot/Google MapsLEROY — Drivers traveling on U.S. 131 or 14 Mile Road near LeRoy will encounter lane changes and road closures this spring. The Michigan Department of Transportation announced a $1.3 million road construction project to the Luther Road bridge over U.S. 131.
Beginning Monday, April 4, drivers can expect lane closures on U.S. 131 and the closure of Luther Road (14 Mile Road). Traffic will be detoured using Mackinaw Trail, 200th Avenue, LeRoy Road and 210th Avenue.
According to a news release, improvements will include concrete barrier replacement, partial deck replacement, substructure repair, new expansion joints, epoxy overlay of the deck, approach work, and new guardrail.
"This work will provide a safer and smoother driving surface and extend the service life of the bridge," the news release stated.
Work is estimated to end by July 29.
