Reed City to adopt new rental ordinance
REED CITY -- The Reed City City Council will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the council chambers of City Hall, 227 E. Lincoln Ave., for the purpose of hearing from the public regarding an amendment to the housing ordinance governing rental property.
The amendment will add Chapter 1441 to Part Fourteen, Title Four of the Reed City Code to provide for registration and inspection of rental dwellings.
Reed City City Manager Ron Howell said the city has been discussing the issue of rental properties, and since there is currently no ordinance regulating those properties, they decided there was a need for the adoption of registration for landlords and fire codes.
A complete copy of the proposed ordinance is available at the city clerk's office, City Hall, 227 E. Lincoln Ave., or by contacting the city clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
