Pioneer photo/Olivia FellowsShow MoreShow LessREED CITY — On Saturday, March 14, the Reed City VFW Hall Post 2964 hosted their fundraiser for barbecued food lovers in the form of chicken barbecue dinner sales, a tradition that dates back to 1967.
Larry Adams, commander of the VFW, said by halfway through the evening they had already sold over 75 meals to visitors and residents.
The funds from the dinner will help the Hall continue to serve the community as well as veterans in the local area.
Adams said the best ways to continue supporting the VFW Hall is supporting the fundraisers they host, such as the chicken barbecue dinner, as well as encouraging more veterans to join the organization.
