LANSING — On Feb. 16, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced that it would be rescinding its masking advisory. The following week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced it would be updating the way it calculates community transmission levels, moving 70% of the country into a low or moderate level.
To help make sense of the new changes, the Pioneer reached out to Dr. Jennifer Morse, medical director at Central Michigan District Health Department, Mid Michigan District Health Department and District Health Department No. 10. Answers have been lightly edited for clarity.
