Peter Morawa Jr.
EVART — Peter Morawa Jr., 85, of Evart, passed away at his home in Hersey Township on Friday, April 21, 2017.
Pete was born on Sept. 9, 1931, in Detroit, to Peter and Mary (Chopski) Morawa. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and had worked for Federal Screw, retiring after 40 years. Mr. Morawa was a founding member of the Evart Moose Lodge. He was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Morawa is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon L. Morawa, of Evart; daughter, Jill (Stan) Blankenship, of Barryton; son, Todd (Joan) Morawa of Clinton Township; grandson, Maxwell Morawa; granddaughter, Abigal Morawa; sister, Jean; brothers, Dennis and Richard; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
A Celebration of Life for Peter Morawa Jr. will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Evart Moose Lodge with Father Joe Fix officiating.
