PARIS — Paul E. Bittner, 86 of Paris, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012. He was born Dec. 21, 1925 on the farm in Green Township, the son of William and Christina (Thiel) Bittner. Paul was drafted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged after serving during World War II.

Paul married Betty Lou Ruppert on April 2, 1951, in Reed City. They made their home on the farm where Paul worked and lived his entire life.

He is survived by five children, David Bittner, of Corunna, Roger Bittner, of Swartz Creek, Doran (Joyce) Bittner, of Paris, Duane (Angie) Bittner, of Paris, and Denise (Gerald) Napieralski, of Dorr; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother Lloyd Bittner, of Tustin; two sisters-in-law, RuthAnn Ruppert, of Florida, and Doris Bittner, of Reed City; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Lou (Ruppert) Bittner; an infant son, Dale; young daughter, Debbie; and five brothers, Willard, Bernard, Alexander, Raymond and Lyle Bittner.

Funeral services took place Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Reed City Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Chris DeMott officiating. Burial took place at Woodland Cemetery in Reed City.

Memorial contributions in Paul’s name may be made to the Reed City Church of the Nazarene, Building Fund.
