The Reed City city council will meet at 6 p.m., Oct. 17, at Reed City city hall, 227 E. Lincoln Ave., Reed City. For more information visit reedcity.org or call 231-832-2245. 

The Reed City Area Ministerial Association Coat Pantry opens Oct. 12, at Reed City Unoted Methodist Church, 503. SS. Chestnut Ave., Reed City. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., every Wednesday through the winter. Coats, hats, and other outerwear is available. For more information call 231-250-2790.

The WELCA Fall Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 14 with lunch until 1 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 15 with no lunch, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 22275 4 Mile Rd., Reed City. 

Alli Paranormal will host a haunted tour from 8 p.m. to Midnight, Oct. 15, at Templar Tattoo, 127 N. River Street, Evart. Tickets are $30.

Travelers in Evart will host a Fall Painting Party from 4 to 7 p.m., Oct. 15. Cost is $35 per person. To reserve a spot, call 231-768-4471.

Coffee and donuts with the candidates will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Oct. 15, at the Reed City Depot. Candidates Tom Kunse and Roger Hauck will be on hand to answer questions.

The Village of Barryton will host a Harvest Festival from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 15 at Barryton Central Park in downtown Barryton. The event will include carnival games2, a bounce house, vendors, food,trunk-or-treat and a car show.

The Oxford Farm corn maze and pumpkin patch is open for the fall season through Oct. 16, at 1799 S. 155th Ave., Hersey. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday. The farm includes a corn maze and kids’ corn maze for $5, free yard games, a hay tower, a picnic area and photo ops. For more information visit oxfordfarmcornmaze.com.

The Osceola County board of commissioners will meet at 9:30 a.m., Oct. 18, at the Osceola County Administration Building, 602 W. Upton Ave., Reed City. For more information visit osceola-county.org or call 231-832-32361.

The Reed City High School band will host the annual Reed City Glow Show Invitational at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 22, at Reed City High School. Tickets are $10. For more information follow the Let’s Talk Reed City Facebook page.

Kiddies Klubhouse in Reed City will host Halloween in the Park from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Oct. 29, at Westerburg Park on S. Roth Street in Reed City. The event will include trick-or-treating, feed the ponies, popcorn, hot cocoa and music.

The Reed City Chamber of Commerce will host a Halloween Block Party from 5 to 8 p.m., Oct. 29, on Upton Street in downtown Reed City. The event will include vendors, games, crafts, cornhole and food.

Camp Albright & Event Center will host a Community Fall Festival and Scarecrow contest on Oct. 14 &15, 21 &22, and 29, sponsored by the CrossRoads Theatre Guild. The event will include hayrides, a haunted bunkhouse, food trucks, campfire w/smores and a scarecrow walk. For more information call 231-250-7118.

Big Rapids Re/Max Together and the Big Rapids DDA will host a Fall Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 29, in downtown Big Rapids. The event will include inflatables, food trucks, a Ferris Wheel, rock wall, pumpkin roll and trunk or treat.

The Salvation Army of Big Rapids has opened a Fresh Start Baby Pantry open to families with children under age 5 in Mecosta, Osceola, Lake and Newaygo counties. The Reed City Heritage Museum is open from 1-4 p.m. Friday through Tuesday at 138 W. Slosson Ave., Reed City. Admission is free. Groups are welcome.

The Crossroads Quilt Guild meets at 6:30 p.m., at the Church of the Nazarene, 5300 220th Ave., Reed City, on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Those interested are welcome to attend without being a member. Any level of quilter is encouraged to attend.

The Reed City Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City. Clients may come once each month for 12 months.

The Reed City Senior Center at 219 E. Todd Ave., hosts the following events weekly: Wednesdays at noon - Fun Bingo; Thursdays at noon- Euchre; Friday – doors open at 10:30 a.m., Early Bird at 11:30 a.m. and Regular Bingo at noon.
