Osceola County community events calendar

•    The Reed City Area District Library is hosting Story Hour at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, which will include stories and activities. For more information visit reedcitylibrary.org. or call 231-832-2131.

•    The Osceola Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association will host a show on April 2. Pre-entry is due by 6 p.m., March 31. No day of show entries will be accepted. For more information call 231-679-5554.

•    Tom Kunse, candidate for state representative in the 100th district will host a ‘Meet and Greet” from 5 to 7:30 p.m., March 31 at the Osceola Grand Hotel, 940 W. 7th St., Evart. The event will be an open house with light refreshments. Donations are welcome, but not required.

•    Get Crafty, 104 N. Main St., Evart is hosting a paint party from noon to 3 p.m., April 2. Pre-pay online at getcraftyevart.com.

•    The Osceola-Lake Conservation district is hosting a beekeeping class with Koffi Kpachavi, founding member of the Fremont Area Beekeepers Club, from 10 a.m. to noon, April 9, at the Reed City Depot, 200 N. •    The Great American Crossroads Celebration committee will meet for a planning session at 5:30 p.m., April 14 at Sunny’s Sports Bar and Grill in Reed City. Anyone interested in being part of the celebration is welcome to attend. Volunteers are needed.

•    There will be a frees soccer clinic for 3rd through 8th grade students from 10 a.m. to noon, April 16, at 4151 wild Turkey Trail, Reed City. Coach Jeff Pill and several Maranatha Baptist University men’s soccer team will run the clinic. To register for the clinic, go to fbcreedcity.com/youth-sports.

•    The Evart Garden Club is looking for volunteers to help with planting and maintaining the bumb out gardens in downtown. Workdays are Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. Email evartgardens@gmail.com for more information.


•    The Reed City Heritage Museum is open from 1-4 p.m. Friday through Tuesday at 138 W. Slosson Ave., Reed City. Admission is free. Groups are welcome.

•    Registration is open for AYSO Osceola County Youth Soccer. Children 5 and older are eligible. Practices start the week of April 11. •    Registration is now open for Reed City Little League. To register go to reedcitylittleleague.com. Assistance is available for registration fees for those who qualify. For information on fee assistance visit everykidsports.org/programs.

•    The Crossroads Quilt guild meets at 6:30 p.m., at the Church of the Nazarene, 5300 220th Ave., Reed City, on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Those interested are welcome to attend without being a member. Any level of quilter is encouraged to attend.

•    The Reed City Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City. Clients may come once each month for 12 months.

•    The Reed City Senior Center at 219 E. Todd Ave., hosts the following events weekly: Wednesdays at noon - Fun Bingo; Thursdays at noon- Euchre; Friday – doors open at 10:30 a.m., Early Bird at 11:30 a.m. and Regular Bingo at noon. •    The Reed City winter parking ban is in effect now until April 1. Parking is prohibited on any street in Reed City between 2:30 and 6 a.m.

•    The Evart winter parking ban is in effect now through April 1. Parking is prohibited on any street in the city between 2 and 6 a.m. this does not apply to the north side of 6th Street between Main and River streets.
