BRADENTON, Fla. — Velma May (Horn) Bittner, 88 of Bradenton, Fla., formally of Flint, passed away July 18, 2011.

Mrs. Bittner was born April 2, 1923, in Flint, ,where she graduated from Central High School. She married Willard Bittner, of Paris, in 1941. Her husband, Willard, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. She leaves their children Wayne (Colette) of Florida/Michigan, Joan (Mike) Boedy of Florida/Michigan, Dennis (Susan) of Florida/Michigan, and Janice (Dave) Charchan of Flint; 31 grandchildren and great-grand children; two brothers; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and special friends. Mrs. Bittner was a broker and sold real estate for many years. She and her husband, Willard, traveled the U.S. extensively. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Township Hall in Reed City.
