SCOTT SAYER REED CITY \u2014 Scott M. Sayer, 50, of Reed City, went to be with his father in heaven on Monday, April 4, 2011, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, following a long battle with many health problems. A compassionate and loving man, Scott spent most of his working life caring for others, whether they be youth at risk or developmentally disabled. He also had a great love for animals, especially his cats. He enjoyed reading, spending time with families and friends and being outdoors, whether driving through the woods or camping and fishing, as well as being a Mr. Fix-It. Scott is survived by his loving wife, Jodi; mother, Gretchen Sayer; sister, Susan Anderson; and brother, Shane Sayer, all of Reed City. He also leaves six step-children, Melissa (Scotty), Jimmy, James, Christopher, Angie and Timmy; as well as several beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Michael G. Sayer; and grandparents, Dr. Leo Frank and Thelma Chess and Floyd and Hilda Sayer. A celebration of life service was held at on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Reed City, followed by a luncheon. Memorial contributions may be made in Scott\u2019s honor to the Gift of Life of Michigan. A private burial will take place at a later date. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery in Reed City.
