Obituary: Ruth Enid Swiger
RUTH ENID SWIGER
Ruth Enid Swiger went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2011, in Greeley, Colo.
Ruth was born June 2, 1930, in Evart to Dr. J.W. and Dorothy Hoverter. She grew up in Evart and graduated from high school there, where she was a drum majorette. She married Norman Swiger on Aug. 4, 1948. They lived and worked on the family farm just outside of Evart. Three of their four children were born on the farm. They moved to Wyoming in the mid 1970s and then moved to Loveland, Colorado in the early 1980s.
Ruth enjoyed church activities, singing, music and quilting. She was actively involved in her church, singing with the praise band up until her death. Many friends and family members will treasure the quilts she made and gave to them.
Ruth was preceded in death by Norm in 1990. She is survived by sons Stephen Michael (Mamie) Swiger, of Poway, Calif.; Burke (Patti) Swiger, of Loveland, Colo.; Erik Swiger, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and by her daughter, Krista (Don) Wesley, of Greer, S.C. Her sister, Mildred French, of Paris also survives.
Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren: Kara (Oscar) Wesley Quieto, Joshua Wesley, Brianne (Robert) Swiger Lovett, Zachary (Megan) Swiger, and her great-grandchildren: Holly, Nadja, Karley, Jacoby, Mickey and Silas.
Ruth was known as HoneyHeart by her family, a name that truly captured who she was, a kind and giving person.
