He was born on Dec. 9, 1958, at Grand Haven Municipal Hospital, Grand Haven. He attended elementary school at Mary A. White and Rosey Mound. In 1968 he moved with the family to Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., where his father was employed by RCA. He became an ardent fisherman during those early years. Always a good student. He especially excelled in music. He preferred brass instruments, but also could play woodwinds as well. He represented Jupiter High School in state competition where he played 1st in brass.

Music later came to play a large part in his life when he was the music director at local churches.

In spite of physical disabilities, he earned an RN degree and practiced until his health failed him. He died at home on June 19, 2011.

His father, Jack Bell precedes him in death. Surviving are his mother, Dorothy Dugan; sister, Mary Dunn; brother-in-law, Richard Dunn; step-father, Edward Dugan; step-brother, Lloyd Dugan; step-sister, Linda Chicette and many relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Evart United Methodist Church. Internment will be in the Osceola Township Cemetery.
