Obituary: Dorothy Anita Critchfield


On June 7, 2011 , Dorothy Anita Critchfield, formerly of Reed City, passed away in Logan, Ohio with her daughter, Patti Critchfield, by her side.

She was born to Helen and Joseph Brian in Logan, Ohio and later moved to Mount Pleasant with her parents and sibling and finished her schooling there.

She has a son Michael Critchfield (Jaci), of Stanwoodand a daughter, Patti Critchfield of Logan, Ohio; grandchildren, Brian of Detroit, and Stephanie of Atlanta Ga.; and one great grandson; a cousin, David Wolfe of Logan, Ohio; a brother in law, Orval (Cub) Rohen, of Mount Pleasant; and several nieces.

Dorothy raised her children in Reed City from the late 50s and was a secretary for Anderson Insurance Agency, and for the City of Reed City until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and the United Methodist Church, Reed City and ran the teen club in Reed City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Margaret; and a grandson. Dorothy loved life and outings with the church and senior center and was loved by all who knew her.

A memorial service was held at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, in Logan, Ohio, with friends and family, by Pastor Jerry Frazee of the Immanuel Methodist Church. She is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan Ohio.
