DALLAS LEE CORYELL OKEMOS \u2014 Dallas Lee Coryell, 60, of Okemos died suddenly Friday, Aug. 19, 2011. He was born Sept. 28, 1950 in Lansing to Lee Frank Coryell and Corinne Eleanor Northrop Mida. He graduated from Pine River High School in 1968 and attended CMU and MSU while working summers at Eagle Boys Village in Hersey as a counselor. He taught in Mason County and in the Okemos Community Schools for a total of 39 years. He was teaching at Hiawatha Elementary School at the time of his untimely death. For nearly 20 years he was an actor and singer in local area dramas and events. He is survived by his mother, Connie Mida; one daughter, Kaleigh Lord; two sons, Dallas Coryell II and August Coryell; three sisters, Susan Maskill, Sandra Krugler and Diane Coryell-Spence; half-brother, Frederick Mida and half-brother David Coryell and half-sister, Judy Coryell; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. A memorial celebration of life service was held at Mount Hope Church in Lansing on Aug. 25. Place of interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lansing. Donation in honor of his name may be made to the Eagle Village Chapel Fund in Hersey.
