EVART - Carl G. Huey, 79, of Evart passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Spectrum Health-Reed City Campus.

He was born April 14, 1932, to Homer Carl and Bernice (Jennings) Huey in Grand Rapids. He attended Grand Rapids Catholic Central and on Feb. 18, 1959, he was married to Rhea Clark in Chicago. He moved from Chicago to Reed City in 1978, then to Evart in 1998. He was an Air Medic in the Air Force during the Korean War and then an EMT in Berkeley, Ill., for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Rhea Huey of Evart; two daughters, Peggy (Randy) Peters of Big Rapids and Sandra (Don) Eschenweck of Evart; one son, Brian (Tammy) Huey Gaylord; grandchildren, Hope, Amanda, Joshua, Leland and Ethan; great grandson of Shioh; his children from a previous marriage, Cindy Huey, Deb Huey and Carl Jr. (Lori) Huey all of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Tennille, Tosha, Tiffany, Robin, Jason, Tanya, R.J., Samantha, Anthony, and Shawna; great grandchildren, Kyle, Amaraa, Jordon, Alisia, Junior, Molikia, Tiffany, Zion, Tiphini, Tabatha, Jasmine, Carrie, James, Heidi, Blaine, Aislynn, Nicholos, Damien, Devilin, Isabella, Adrianna, Lylyanadebra, Briaja, Keynon and Londyn; great great grandchildren, Austin, Katelyn, Hailey, Tabby, Hose, James, Kallrista, Richard, Amarianna, Elijsha; two sisters, Patricia (Joe) Aldrich of Fr. Wayne, IN and Judith Aldrich of Grand Rapids and three brothers, Jerry Huey of Muskegon, Robert Huey of Grand Rapids and Chuck (Sally) Huey of Walker. He was precede in death by two brothers, Richard and Jack; and grandson Israel.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 28 at Corey Funeral Home, Evart with Pastor Kris Richardson, Big Rapids Assembly of God officiating. Burial is at Ashton Cemetery West.
