OBITUARY: Dennis J. Bruske

DENNIS J. BRUSKE

REED CITY — Dennis J. Bruske, 81, of Reed City, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at his home.

He was born Nov. 13, 1929 in Reed City to William and Mary Ellen (Kurtz) Bruske, and attended Reed City schools, graduating from Reed City High School in 1948. He served in the U. S. Army for a short time in the early 1950s. Dennis married Mary Lou Zahm on Oct. 26, 1957. She survives. He was a lifetime resident of the Reed City area and had been a farmer and also retired from driving school bus. He was a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Dennis was also a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, gardening, and watching his grandchildren participate in sports.

Also surviving are his daughters: Mary Ann (Jesse) Becerra, of Reed City, Diane (John) McIntyre, of Wyoming, Susan (Steve) Pavelka, of Noblesville, Ind., Denise (Jessy) Jordon, of Horton, and Luanne (Charles) McIntyre, of Bellevue; 14 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister Mary Ellen (Charles) Wakeman. He was preceded in death by one son, James; one grandchild, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 9 at St. Philip Neri Church with Rev. Fr. Rock Badgerow officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Church or to the family.

Arrangements were entrusted to the McDowell Funeral Home.
