New Johnny's Market in Reed City holds ribbon cutting

McBee: "I'm excited for the grand opening"

REED CITY — A new gas station, a Johnny's Market location, recently officially opened in Reed City with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

There was free pizza and cake pops, along with Shine water and $1 slushies. There was also a prize wheel where customers could get discounts on gas, or prizes if they were lucky, including Birthday Bash tickets.

The Reed City location at 5065 S 220th Ave. has been open and operational since the fall, but the official grand opening was postponed due to ownership changes and remodeling.

The ribbon was cut by J.P. Walters, president, and CEO of Walters-Dimmick Petroleum.

"I'm excited for the grand opening," said Alanna McBee, chamber coordinator for the Reed City Chamber of Commerce. "It'll hopefully get the community to show up."

McBee said Johnny's is one of a few businesses arriving to the Reed City area recently. "It's not such a small town anymore," she said.

Johnny's is known for its exceptional customer service. During the grand opening, one customer remarked "The service in this place!" after an employee held the door open for them with a smile.
