
REED CITY – Nancy H. Wright, 56, of Reed City, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1959, in Big Rapids, the daughter of Wayne and Helen (Berg) Goldammer, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1977. For 35 years, Nancy worked for the State of Michigan Department of Human Services office in Big Rapids.
Nancy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt and friend who cherished her family dearly, especially her granddaughter, Ella, who always brought a smile to her face. She loved to crochet afghans for her family and friends. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Reed City. Nancy had a strong faith and relationship with the Lord.
On July 25, 1981, she married Jerry D. Wright, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Joshua Wright, of Walled Lake; one daughter, Jessie (Matt) Ford, of Reed City; her granddaughter, Ella Ford; her brother, Bruce (Patty) Goldammer, of Ossineke; her sister, Sandy (Alvin) Eastlund, of Reed City; two sisters-in-law, Deb (John) Currie and Dana Wright, both of Rodney; a brother-in-law, John (Tina) Wright, of Paris; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and –nephews, as well as many other family and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister; and brother-in-law, Karen and Jim Spedowski; and a brother-in-law, Jim Wright.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Reed City, with Pastor Dawn Pooley officiating. Nancy’s family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to the Cancer Center of America or the Susan P. Wheatlake Cancer Center. Envelopes will be available at the church on Saturday, or at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
