Mary Lee (Tiedt) Schram

MAPLE CITY — Mary Lee Schram, 82, of Maple City, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015.

Mary Lee was born on Oct. 3, 1933, in Sears, to the late Edmund and Marjorie (Brooks) Tiedt. On Aug. 17, 1957, Mary Lee married Marvin Schram in Reed City. Mary Lee graduated from the St. Lawrence School of Nursing and served as a registered nurse at Sparrow Hospital, Albion Hospital and Francis Street Medical Center, where she changed the lives of many people. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, traveling across the U.S. and participating in politics by serving the Republican Party of Michigan. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary Lee is survived by her husband of 58 years, Marvin; her children, Beth, of Maple City, Susan (Steve) Mills, of Parma, and David (Kelly) Schram, of Plainwell; grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas (Karalee), Ryan, Craig (Amanda), and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Lydia, Carter, and Parker; as well as her siblings, Alan (Patricia) Tiedt, Elsie (Bob) Connor, and Ellen Jean (Paul) Smaltz; and several nieces and nephews.

The family celebrated Mary Lee’s life at the Brooks Corners Church in Sears on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
