Margaret L. Kennaday
HOWELL — Margaret L. Kennaday, 88 of Howell, formerly of Pontiac, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Arbor Hospice in Ann Arbor after a short illness.
She was born March 9, 1923 in Evart, the daughter of John E. and Jesse (Corkins) Connor. Beloved wife of the late Quintin Kennaday whom she had married on June 3, 1946. Beloved mother of Kathryn A. (William T.) Bacon of Byron and Christine L. Kennaday of Montgomery Village, Md.; very special and sweet grandmother of William R. Bacon of Howell, Wendy S. (Justin) Vriesman of Lowell, Steven A. (Amanda) Bacon of Byron, Rogerio Bringel of Brasilia, Brazil and great-grandmother of Jordyn and Emerson Vriesman and Skylar, Shiann and Shayla Bacon and the late Gabriel M. Vriesman. Margaret lived most of her life in Auburn Heights and Pontiac; worked several years at Bethany Baptist Church and retired after 20 years as the school secretary at East Hills Junior High School in Bloomfield Hills. She enjoyed watching sports and never missed a Detroit Tigers game. She loved cooking for friends and family gatherings, playing bridge with friends, traveling, crossword puzzles and being the very best grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Margaret was sweet, kind, loving and willing to help anyone in anyway she could. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
The family would like to express gratitude to her special care givers at Comfort Keepers, the nurses on floor 4B at U of M Hospital, the nursing staff at Arbor Hospice and all those who sent their love and concern to her and the family. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be conducted by dear family friend, Mr. Donald Kevern, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 with visitation starting at 11:30 a.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, 315 N.
