Margaret Ella May Sutter, 90, of Reed City, passed away quietly on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, after enjoying a great day — her 90th birthday — at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital.

Margaret was born to William Sutter and Gertrude Nelson, on Feb. 3, 1923, in Reed City. She was a 1940 graduate of Reed City High School. On Dec. 25, 1944, she was married in Reed City to Gerald S. Sutter, who passed away in 1992.

She was employed at several jobs during her lifetime, but working as a Bell Telephone operator was her favorite. Margaret and Jerry started the family business — Sutter Motor Sales — in August 1945, where she was “The Boss” and bookkeeper until 2011, when failing health caused her retirement.

She is survived by her only child, Harold (Judy) Sutter; grandson, Darold (Julie) Sutter; great-granddaughters, Brittany Lee Sutter, Jeri Ann Sutter and Ashley (Kyle) Sluiter; and great-great-granddaughter, Halley Sluiter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Sutter; and great-granddaughter, Megan Sutter, in 1991.

Arrangements for Margaret Ella May Sutter were private, in accordance with her wishes. On Feb. 8, 2013, there was private family visitation followed by a graveside service and burial at Woodland Cemetery in Reed City. Online obituary may be viewed and condolences offered at www.pruittlivingston.com.
