Linda Marie Derscheid

EVART — Linda Marie Derscheid, 62, of Evart, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Big Rapids.

She was born May 4, 1950, in Lansing. Linda attended Ferris State University then received her Master’s Degree in Social Work. She had been an Evart area resident for the last 50 years and worked as a social worker for Pineview Homes.

Linda attended the Bible Methodist Church near Evart, which was built by her father. Her grandchildren and her work were her life, and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Linda is survived by her mother, Helen Derscheid, of Evart; son, Steve Hubbard Derscheid, of Alaska; daughter, Angie Gray, of Big Rapids; three grandchildren, Jaron, Jace and Jaylynn Gray; four brothers, Steve Winters, of Indiana, Larry (Betty) Derscheid, of Evart, Paul (Linda) Derscheid, of Evart, Greg (Cindy) Derscheid, of Evart; three sisters, Rhonda Worth, of Charlotte, Shirley (Ed) Davenpor,t of Parma, and Jann (Dave) Johnson, of Parma. She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Derscheid.

Funeral services are at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012, at the Bible Methodist Church near Evart, with Pastor David Ward officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart. Internment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
