LEROY — Lillian Ruth Holcomb, 81, of LeRoy, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 5, 2014.
She was born on April 16, 1933, to Millard Hoogerhyde and Margaret Stover. She was a 1951 graduate of Reed City High School. On Oct. 8, 1953, Lillian married Max Holcomb, of LeRoy, who preceded her in death. She was employed by Gardner-Denver and the Osceola County Sheriff's Department until her retirement in 1995. Lillian was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Reed City and loved camping, sewing, knitting and baking. She was loved dearly by her friends and family and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sister, Helen; brother, Peter; four beloved daughters, Peggy Baker, of Reed City, Ruth Ann (Thomas) Oliver, of Long Beach, Miss., Michelle Kay (Dean) Bailey, of Tuttle, Okla., Kathleen Marie (Fred) Saladin, of Reed City; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Holcomb; parents, Millard and Margaret Hoogerhyde; and her siblings, Donald and Sandra.
According to her wishes, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Reed City.
