EVART — Leland “Len” Edward Nadig, of Evart, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016, at his home in Evart Township surrounded by his family. He was 77.

Mr. Nadig was born Sept. 5, 1938, to Leonard and Frohne (Winters) Nadig in Schapville, Ill. He married Ruth I. Boelk on Dec. 24, 1958, at the Stockton Church of the Nazarene in Stockton, Ill. Len worked in maintenance for Atwood Manufacturing in Stockton for 40 years before retiring to Michigan in 1995, where he opened Len’s Tinker Shop to keep himself busy. Nadig enjoyed his old cars, building things, and his coffee in the morning with friends, where they would solve the world’s problems.

Len is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth I. Nadig, of Evart; his daughter, Lori (Jeff) LaPlante, of Hersey; his son, Jeff (Tereasa) Nadig, of Evart; his four grandchildren, Lacee, Brittani, Allyson and Layne; a niece, Donna Groechall; and two nephews, Ronnie Doersam and Gary Doersam. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Doersam, and a nephew, Dale Doersam.

Funeral services for Leland “Len” Edward Nadig are 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart. Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
