Northbound U.S. 131 will be reduced to one lane from 13 Mile Road to 19 Mile Road from July 11 through Aug. 31.

MECOSTA, OSCEOLA COUNTIES — Travelers on U.S. 131 will face lane and ramp closures in Mecosta and Osceola counties beginning July 11 and July 8 respectively.
MECOSTA COUNTY: Beginning Monday, July 11, northbound U.S. 131 from 13 Mile Road to just north of 19 Mile Road will be reduced to a single lane through Aug. 31, according to MiDrive.
Intermittent ramp closures during that timeframe include the northbound U.S. 131 ramp to M-20/Perry Avenue and the eastbound and westbound M-20/Perry Avenue ramps to northbound U.S. 131. The northbound U.S. 131 ramp to 19 Mile Road also will be closed intermittently.
According to a news release from the Michigan Department of Transportation, the project is a $6.6 million investment to rebuild about 6 1/2 miles of U.S. 131, including resurfacing, drainage improvements and new guardrail.
"This work will provide a safer and smoother driving surface and extend the service life of the roadway," the news release states.
Project is slated to end in late September.
Another road project on 19 Mile Road, east of U.S. 131 in Green Township, is slated to wrap up Friday, July 15. A stretch of 19 Mile Road at west crossing of Dalziel Creek has been closed since April.
OSCEOLA COUNTY: According to MiDrive, beginning Friday, July 8, U.S. 131 will be reduced intermittently to a single lane in both directions while crews work on the 14 Mile/Luther Road overpass near in LeRoy Township in Osceola County.
According to a news release from the Michigan Department of Transportation, the project is a $1.3 million investment to improve the bridge, including concrete barrier replacement, partial deck replacement, substructure repair, new expansion joints, epoxy overlay of the deck, approach work and new guardrail.
Work is expected to be finished Friday, July 15.
