EVART — Kenneth Paul “Skip” McNeil, 78, of Evart, passed away on July 20, 2012, at Hospice House in Dade City, Fla. He was born on April 16, 1934, in Hazel Park.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Anna (Gardner) McNeil. They were snowbirds for the past 18 years. He also is survived by four children, Cinda (Douglas) Shaffer, of Cheboygan, Debbra McNeil, of Evart, Donald (Sheila) McNeil, of Evart, and David McNeil, of Interlachen, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charolette (Jim) Bishop, of Marion, Richard (Katie) McNeil, of Franklin, N.C., Sharon (Dale) Sneller, of Clio, Karen (Larry) Alexander, of Farwell, Gary (Connie) McNeil, of Auburn Hills, and Larry (Donna) McNeil, of Sears; and many nieces and nephews, one of whom was very special to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Dorothy Jane (Wiggins) McNeil; and one brother, Donald A. McNeil.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at the Evart Free Methodist Church.
