CHASE — Jewel E. Pollaski, 85, of Chase, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at her home.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1928, in South Bend, Ind., to Michael and Verlia (Kidder) Patterson and attended Loke and Carr Settlement schools.

Jewel married Rex Pollaski on June 6, 1957. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2010. Jewel had been a resident of the Chase area since 1956 and worked at Evart Products for 24 years, until retiring in 1991, and enjoyed camping at Youngs Lake, where they camped for 40 years.

Surviving are her children, Karen (Dave) Brooks, of Hersey, Bill (Sandy) Feasel, of Reed City, Barb (Jack) Wirth, Kathy (Ron) Morren, Laurie (Ron) Smith, Ken (LuAnn) Pollaski and Tammy Pollaski, all of Chase; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters, June Davis, Elaine Stieg and Linda Marsh; and one brother, Jerry Patterson.

She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Feasel; and one brother, Wayne Patterson.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at McDowell Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron VanSyckle officiating. Burial will be in Chase Township Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013.
