EVART — James Lee Elton, 50, of Evart, passed away at his home in Hersey Township on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013.

Mr. Elton was born on Feb. 19, 1963, in Grand Rapids, to Jack Lee Elton and Nancy Kaye Brackett. He was a 1981 graduate of Reed City High School and was a lifelong Evart area resident. Jim worked for Ventra (Evart Products) for more than 30 years and was a shipping clerk most recently. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and the casino.

James is survived by a daughter, Latasha (Robert Irvin) Elton, of Clare; a grandson, JayDyn Irvin; a granddaughter, JazLyn Irvin; a sister, Danette Garcia, of North Carolina; three brothers, Randy Elton, of Evart, Tony Elton, of Evart, and Brad (Tammy) Elton, of Reed City; and his soul mate, Collette Patykowski, of Evart.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jack Lee Elton; his mother, Nancy Kaye Brackett; and a sister, Sandy.

Funeral services for Mr. Elton are at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart, with Father Joe Fix officiating. Visitation will be noon until time of services.
