James E. Finnerty
MOUNT PLEASANT — James E. Finnerty, 70, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at McClaren Central Michigan Hospital in Mount Pleasant.
Mr. Finnerty was born Jan. 1, 1947, in Detroit, to James H. and Gladys E. (Keggs) Finnerty. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1964 to 1967. James was a police officer for the City of Detroit for 15 years. He married Kelly J. Vincent on May 15, 2015, in Mount Pleasant. He enjoyed his family and riding Harleys.
James is survived by his wife, Kelly J. Vincent, of Mount Pleasant; son, Kota Joe Vincent at home; daughters, Amy (Jason) Croan, of Detroit, and Angela Hanninen, of Evart; four grandchildren, Ronnie, Cody, Brenden and Lauryn; a sister, Sharon Scott, of Evart; and brothers, Ron (Pam) Finnerty, of Southfield, Kevin Finnerty, of Evart, and Kelly Finnerty, of Evart.
It was Mr. Finnerty’s wish to be cremated with no formal services.
