Led by the Reed City General Federation of Women's Club, the adult comedy showcase is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Beverage Tent. There will be beer & wine sampling as well as appetizers provided.
The event features Joey Elder & friends performing adult comedy to benefit other Reed City GFWC events as well as local charities.
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, and available at Sunny's Sports Bar, Reed City Brewing Co., Ashton General Store, and GFWC members.
"We’ve never done that before," Jesse Kailing, board president of the Great American Crossroads Celebration, said about the new event. "We’re gonna see how it goes, maybe it’s something we’ll do every year."
Head of the event, Joan Williams, of GFWC, said “We’re expecting it to be a lot of fun. We’ve heard really good things about the comedians. I have not heard them personally, but several people have and they are quite pleased, and we’re excited to have them.”
There are eight comedians on the schedule to perform.
The funds from the event will go towards several area charities, including the new Veteran's Memorial Park, Women's Information Services (WISE), as well as the recreation committee.
“It’s always a good time, we have a lot of fun, and it’s always for a good cause, everything goes back to the community," Williams said.
