Gordon Lyle Graham

Gordon Lyle Graham, 76, of Reed City, was welcomed by Jesus into heaven with open arms on Sunday, April 15, 2012, and will no longer suffer from the terrible disease of cancer.

Gordon was born on July 22, 1935, in Saginaw to Leslie and Agatha Graham and was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School and attended Delta College and Saginaw Valley Community College. In 1977, he and his family moved to Reed City when he became the owner and operator of Quality Wood Products in Baldwin together with his best friend Ron Michalski. He was later employed with Michigan Rubber Products as purchasing manager until his retirement. Gordon was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reed City and served in many capacities, including president of the congregation, as a member of the building committee, and as an elder. Gordon loved the time he spent with family and church friends and has had a profound impact on all of our lives that we will be able to cherish forever.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Blaine (Nicki) Graham and Babette Hodges (Chris Herrera); step-children (even though he never treated them as step-children), Jeff (Jennifer) Maus, Scott (Molly) Maus and Sheri (Jamie) Edstrom; grandchildren, Nick, Olivia (Hose Costa), Caitlyn, Isaiah, Morgan, Madison, Brett, Jennifer and his special “little buddy” grandson, Lucas, whom he spent so much time with and became such a role model for; great-granddaughter Giselle; his sister, Iris Baldys; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; his parents; and his brother Harold.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reed City with Pastor Jeffrey Potter and Pastor Dean Davenport officiating. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund or to The Renucci House in Grand Rapids. Envelopes will be available during visitation from noon until time of services on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
