Glenn Allen Wirth

HERSEY — Glenn Allen Wirth, 74, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital.

Glenn was born on Jan. 2, 1940, in Reed City, to Otto and Gladys (Wing) Wirth. He was a 1959 graduate of Reed City High School. Glenn married Velma McLachlan in Hersey on July 1, 1961. He managed a golf course for the city of Flint and after retirement helped build and maintain Birch Valley Golf Course near Evart. Glenn was a member of Pheasants Forever and attended the Sears Church of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Velma, of Hersey; daughter, Sheri (John) Dunkel, of Big Rapids; two sons, Scott (Laura) Wirth, of Grand Blanc, and Tony Wirth of Hersey; six grandchildren, Dylan Wirth, Tony Wirth Jr., Victoria Wirth, Olivia Wirth, Waylon Dunkel, and Ellie Dunkel; a sister, Glenda Ernst, of Muskegon; and four brothers, Ronald (Jane) Wirth, of Big Rapids, Dale (Kay) Wirth, of Hersey, David (Rosie) Wirth, of Hersey, and Daniel (Susan) Wirth of Evart.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service for Glenn Allen Wirth is at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Corey Funeral Home in Evart, with Pastor Dick Latham officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at the funeral home. Internment will take place in the spring in Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
