REED CITY — Georgia May Chamberlain, 77, of Reed City, passed away on Wednesday, Nov.19, 2014, at her residence.

She was born on June 11, 1937, in Marion, to George and Irene (Wyman) Wheeler. She was raised in Marion and was a 1956 graduate of Marion High School. She was employed for more than 45 years in the electronic component manufacturing industry and worked for several companies, including Tassa Co. of Marion, Evart Products Co. in Evart and Nartron Co. in Reed City. For the last 10 years, she worked for Rite-Aid Pharmacy in Reed City.

Georgia had been a member of a women’s traveling basketball league in her youth and later in life took up bowling. Together with various friends and family, she was a founding member of the “Carmichael Farms” team of the Evart Bowling League. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and feeding song birds.

She is survived by her children, Louie (Jill) Chamberlain, David (Opal) Rohdy, Vickie (Craig) Peterson, Theresa Garwood, Diana (James Robinson) Carmichael, Tanya (David May) Carmichael, Donna (Russell Downs Jr.) Witt, Lisa (Terry) Salisbury and Torry (Mark) Deady; brothers, Noel Wheeler, JB Wheeler and Cecil (Cheri) Wheeler; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Irene Wheeler; a brother, Willard Wheeler; husband, Larry Chamberlain; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City, with Pastor Chad Carmichael officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Reed City. Visitation with the family will be at 11 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
