Eva M. (Gullet) Winekoff

EVART — Eva M. (Gullet) Winekoff, 79, of Evart, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at her home on Lake Lure.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1932. She graduated from Dearborn High School in 1949 and went on to receive a teaching degree from the University of Michigan. On Aug. 5, 1950, she married William A. Winekoff in Wayne. She worked as a public school teacher for Redford and Hartland, retiring from Hartland in 1987.

Eva began spending time in Lake Lure since the 1960s. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, and watching and feeding the birds.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William A. Winekoff, of Evart; two daughters, Barbara (Melvin) Zeigler, of Evart, and Ann (Scott) Forsythe, of Fenton; a son, Stephen Winekoff (Julie Thigpen), of Florida; two sisters, Pauline Burns, of Georgia, and Nancy Gullet, of Plymouth; and two brothers, James Gullet, of Plymouth, and David (Chris) Gullet, of Oregon. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Gullet.

Funeral services were be held on Saturday, April 17, 2012, at Corey Funeral Home in Evart. The Rev. Paul Davis, of South Evart Free Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
