Edward M. Wible
REED CITY — Edward M. Wible, 72, of Reed City, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.
Ed was born on April 3, 1939, in Bluffton, Ind., to Ed and Opal (Gerwig) Wible. He attended Reed City schools. On Aug. 3, 1968, he married his wife of 42 years, Luana (Williams). Together they had two daughters, Tabbie (John) Howell and Sheri Dailey (Dale Urbanski), both of Hersey. Also, daughters, Deb Garner and Patti (Dewight) Groh; and son, Mark (Billie Jo) Wible, all of Evart, survive.
Ed was a proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was greeted on Thanksgiving Day by his newest great-grandson, Brantly Edward, and also has a great-granddaughter due in January.
A sister, Sandra Hillman, of Lancaster, Pa., as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews survive.
Ed worked at Wolverine World Wide Glove Plant for 33 years, Nabco for 10 years and Eagle Village for five years. He enjoyed cutting wood and was in the country-western band “The Last Resort.” Ed played seven different instruments, called square dances and sang. He liked to fish for crappie and bluegills with his grandson, Tyler, and enjoyed camping with Adrian and Lois Clementshaw.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Garold Wible.
Visitation will be held at 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 at the McDowell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5 at the funeral home, with Pastor Dan Miller of Edgetts Wesleyan Church officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in LeRoy. A luncheon will follow at the LeRoy United Methodist Church.
