WARWICK, R.I. (AP) —

A Rhode Island man was killed Friday night after his car left a highway and struck several trees, state police said.

The crash happened on Interstate 95 in Warwick around 7:30 p.m. State police said Ravi Rahul, 41, of Exeter, was driving south when his 2017 Kia Sportage left the road for an unknown reason and struck several trees.

Rahul was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he died.

Police said that they are investigating but that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

They are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact their office.
