Donald Roy Collison

Donald Roy Collison, age 82 of Reed City, passed away Monday December 10, 2012 in Grand Rapids.

He was born March 17, 1930 in Flint to Harold Collison and Agnes Rieman and was a 1948 graduate of Flint Central High School before attending Ferris State College.

From 1950-52 he served his country honorably in the United States Army Medical Corps. On May 30, 1954 he was married to Donna Jeanne Lickert who passed away in 1998. He was employed with Tubelite Co. in Reed City as head of human resources until his retirement in 1992.

Don served the Reed City community over the years as mayor, city councilman, and as a member of the hospital board. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church beginning in 1965 where he was a member of several committees.

On June 12, 1999 he was married in Reed City to Georgia Allan Pinkston who survives. He especially enjoyed summers at their cottage on Rose Lake and being out on the water.

He is survived by his wife Georgia Collison of Reed City, son Timothy (Kimberly) Collison of Grand Rapids, daughter Cindy (Eric) Mis of Jennison, sister Lucille (Richard) Carver of Swartz Creek, grandchildren Brandon Mis, Jordan Mis, Chris Collison, and Megan Collison, and great grandchildren Kalista and Isabell. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Collison.

Funeral services were held Saturday December 15, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reed City with Rev. Robert Baerwolf officiating.

Burial was at Woodland Cemetery in Reed City.
