Delight A. Bailey
EVART — Delight A. Bailey, 85, of Evart, passed away on Sunday Nov. 30, 2014, after a long illness with her daughters by her side. She was at her daughter's (Phyllis) home in Evart.
Delight was born on Jan. 31, 1929, in Arcadia, to Joseph and Laura (Overhault) Burns. On Dec. 20, 1947, in Scottville, she married Gerald Bailey. In 1980, she left the Evart area and moved to Florida. Delight's interests included taking pictures of the trees in the fall, rainbows, family members, shopping, feeding the birds and spending time with family.
She is survived by her three daughters, Phyllis (Robert Sr.) Tripp, of Evart, Darlene (Jerry) Gray, of Farwell, and Laurie (Ron) Bennett Jr., of Evart; five sons, Ronald (Jean) Bailey Sr., of Evart, Lloyd (Veralyn) Bailey Sr., of Kentucky, Lester Bailey, of Manistee, Kerry Bailey and Cathy Doll, of Gobles, and Gary (Shelley) Bailey, of Tennessee; three sisters, Irene Bryon, of Florida, Maxine King, of Traverse City, and Bernita Barryton, of Ludington; three brothers; Raymond Burns, of Traverse City, Frank Burns, of Florida, and Lawerance Burns, of Ludington; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bailey was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gerald; one son, Donald; two sisters, Wynne and Geraldine; and two brothers, Chester and Eugene.
Funeral services for Delight Bailey are at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at the Corey Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at the Corey Funeral Home.
Internment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
