Darrell Ray Stout, of Evart, died Saturday Sept. 1 at Arbor Hospice in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was 74.

Mr. Stout was born Aug. 23, 1938 in Avery, North Carolina to Lincoln Alvin & Flossie (Greene) Stout. He married Patsy J. Dickson in Inkster, Michigan on October 20, 1962. She preceded him in death June 28, 2008.

He retired to the Evart area from Belleville, Michigan after working 30 years for the Ford Motor Company. Mr. Stout was a member of the Olive Branch #542 Masonic Lodge in Dearborn, member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner.

He attended the Evart Free Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Stout enjoyed hunting and fishing, the Pistons, and politics.

Survivors include his son Greg (Brionna) Stout of Madison Heights, MI, his daughter Cindy (Tony) Cecil of Belleville, MI, five grandchildren, and two brothers, Lowell Stout of Indiana and Ralph Stout of Tennessee.

Funeral services for Darrell Ray Stout are 1p.m. Wednesday, September 5, at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Pastor Mark Bullock officiating. Visitation is Wednesday 11 a.m. until time of services.

Internment will be in the Osceola Township Cemetery.
