Bruce Kent Hoverter

Bruce Kent Hoverter went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.

He was born to Priscilla (Hoverter) Whitman and the late Paul Hoverter, on April 4, 1955, in Evart. Bruce graduated from Freeland High School in 1973 and received an associate degree in auto mechanics from Delta College. He acquired his builders license and started Hoverter’s Home Improvement business.

Bruce was passionate about helping others, especially when utilizing the skills of his trades. He was sought after by friends and family for his mechanical and problem solving abilities. Bruce enjoyed fishing, boating and camping, but his biggest love was spending time with his friends and family. Bruce is remembered for his gentle and kind spirit, optimism and great sense of humor. For those of us who have had the pleasure to know him his facial expressions were priceless. Bruce will be genuinely missed by all.

Bruce is survived by his mother, Priscilla (Duane) Whitman; his friend and former wife, (Deborah) Hoverter; two step-children, Amanda (Jeremy) Mitchell and Bridget (Emanuel) Villareal; five grandchildren, Christopher Miller-Gerow, Dylan Mitchell, Dominic, Xavier and Vincent Villareal; a brother, Douglas (Sharon) Hoverter; two sisters, Barbara Norton and Davi (Eric) Gardner; a step-sister, Sue (Michael) Freedland; three nephews, Jeremiah and Jason Norton and Carson Pontius; former brother-in-law, Glen Norton; and a close family friend, Otto Brandt.
