REED CITY — Bonnie Bess Ford, 70, of Reed City, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Reed City to Lyle and Nellie (Cornelius) Ripley on July 17, 1942. She was employed with the Yoplait yogurt company for 18 years, and she enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and spending time with her family, including her nephew Mike Ripley, who held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Tony) Afton, of Reed City, Mary (Nick) Peffer, of Ashton, and Bobbie Palacios (Jason Nelson), of Manton; step-children, Loretta Lynn (Tom) Ford-Boyer and Loretta Lynn’s brother, Corey; brother, Bob (Marie) Ripley, of Reed City; grandchildren, Nick Peffer Jr., Jason Peffer, Jessica Barrera, Anthony Afton, Lynette Peffer, Dustin Crissman, Katrina Palacios, Danielle (Blake) Johnson and Jeremy Lang; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Mackenzie, Isak, Michael, Hunter, Delanie and Joshua; and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lyle Jr. and Jerry; a sister, Jo Ann Russell; and a grandson, Clayton Smith. She was preceded in death her husband of 40 years, Richard L. Ford, by a few short hours.
